Abstract: A fundamental accuracy limitation for Accelerometer Calibration results from the residual hum and noise of system instrumentation. Because calibrations are usually performed at relatively low vibration levels, the outputs from lower sensitivity Shock Accelerometers can be effectively buried in noise. This paper will discuss the improvements which can be achieved in both automated and manual accelerometer calibrations that result from the use of a Signal Analyzing Voltmeter.
