Abstract: How much energy am I getting for my buck? This question is raised time and time again. We ask it from our producers, and our customers ask it from us. As a result, we measure the energy received and delivered, make up receipts and statements, and all is well. NOT! Unfortunately, counting energy units is not simple but it is much more interesting than counting apples. Our industry hasnt even decided what units of measure to use. Is it Mcf, MMBtu, or MJ? Is it gross or net? Are the reference conditions at a dry or saturated basis?
