Abstract: In order to have a better understanding of what we are to discuss here today, we should define what is meant by unaccounted- for-gas losses and what we mean by gas leakage, because correct definitions are vital to understanding. Unless we understand just what we are talking about, we cannot communicate with one another. So lets take a look at all of the factors which make up so-called unaccounted-for-gas and leakage and why, in most cases, leakage and unaccounted- for-gas losses cannot be used synonymously. Then we will try to determine what we can do about these losses of gas.
