Abstract: Integrated information systems are necessary to provide the information flow through the various functions of the corporation. These systems require intensive planning in their development and implementation to make them adaptable to change and at the same time be integrated into the utilitys evolving master plan in a changing environment. The most practical approach to designing and installing these information systems now appears lo be through joint effort with other utilities. Joint effort provides a wide experience of highly skilled and professional users and EDP systems designers who can design and install a system in a shorter time frame and at a fraction of the cost required by an individual utilitys efforts alone.
