Abstract: There is one common purpose for wet calibrating Gas and liquid USMs, the fact that current measurements of the distance between and the angle of the transducers is not sufficient to allow for a prediction of the calibration factor within the required uncertainty limits. Both types of meter still require a base calibration to locate a basic meter factor. From this point on their philosophy and requirements diverge.
