Abstract: In this industry, there is no single place where accuracy is so much a must as it is in the measurement of natural gas. Basically, the orifice meter is the cash register of the gas industry. Money is made or lost depending on the time and effort devoted to the maintenance and operation of the orifice meter. To be sure, the orifice is not the ultimate in measuring devices, but at the present it is the most adaptable and flexible instrument for the purpose it serves. Both the buyer and seller are dependent upon the accuracy of orifice meter measurement. To obtain this accuracy, the following policy should be adhered to.
