Abstract: Rotary meters have been around for approximately 80 plus years. They were first made by Roots Brothers. The first design was rather simple compared to todays designs. Today rotary meters can measure gas from 2 to 3 cubic feet per hour through 160,000 cubic foot per hour. The range covers residential, commercial, all the way to large industrial pressure ratings available through 1480 psi. This paper will discuss methods of testing, differential pressure testing & prover testing.
