Abstract: Chart calculation on a day to day basis is really very much a function of the capability of the people who operate these systems. Care and concern is required, beginning in the field and carried through into the office in order to achieve a long term record of satisfactory performance. The world we live in is becoming machine oriented and procedural, but these machines and procedures are still dependent upon human concern. We must not overlook this critical factor. This human element is very important beginning with the men in the field who operate and maintain the instruments the operational people who control the flow variables the chart changers and the chart handlers who get the charts into the office and the many people who work there converting these instrument records into billing records.
