Abstract: With the present trends in the cost of n a t u r al gas, it is easy to see where the measurement and a c c o u n t i n g for gas w i l l receive much more a t t e n t i on i n the years ahead. When the p r i c e of n a t u r al gas was low it was d i f f i c u l t to j u s t i f y the use of good measuring equipment however, since new c o n t r a c t gas p r i c e s are sometimes more than 10 times e a r l i e r rates t h e r e is a d e f i n i t e need for more accurate and convenient methods of d e t e r mining gas volumes
