Author: Rick Wilsack

Abstract: Testing of multipath ultrasonic meters for Custody Transfer measurement began in 1994 at TransCanada PipeLines Douglastown meter station. At Douglastown meter station we could compare measurement of one 24 inch ultrasonic meter, in series, with the combined measurement of four 12 inch turbines. Favorable test results from the first year of testing, which were presented at the 1995 CGA school, led to the installation of ultrasonic meters at TransCanada PipeLines Success meter station, the first in Canada utilizing ultrasonic technology for Custody Transfer. Presented are the results from the last six months of Douglastown testing, the installation of ultrasonic meters at Success meter station, and testing done on measurement at Success.
