Abstract: The days of pumping 3.50 product through a relatively unpopulated countryside are a thing of the past. Today that product is worth 35.00, and it is likely to move within twenty feet of a hundred bedrooms in a single subdivision. If the tenfold increase in price had not spurred investigations into means for detecting and locating unauthorized removal of product from a pipeline, the safety of the populous along its route would have demanded it.
