Abstract: One of the fundamentals in the operation of a gas system is pressure. A gas system is not a stable system with the changing load conditions requiring various volumes of gas. and with variable main and delivery pressures. The fundamental principle of a regulator is to deliver from a gas main in a distribution system, or from a high pressure cross country pipe line a varying volume of gas at a predetermined set outlet pressure, with complete safety, and reliability to the gas system or the gas consumer.
