Abstract: Several techniques to determine the criconden-therm of natural gas in the dense-phase have been evaluated. This paper focuses on a practical solution that could be used to manage a hydrocarbon cricondentherm specification in real-time. The method is based on a statistical analysis of the hydrocarbon dew point of gas mixtures of varying compositions at a given constant pressure. It offers a fundamentally sound and cost effective technique to determine the quality of the gas in the dense-phase. A brief summary of the basis for this method is described supported by numerical analysis of over 1000 different gas mixtures with individual alkane components varying between expected lower and upper bounds
