Abstract: It is becoming more and more important to control and monitor the amount of gas lost throughout a transmission pipeline system. In the highly competitive gas market, companies not only have to compete with other gas companies for customers but also have to compete with other forms of energy. Unaccounted-for-gas is an expense to a gas company and should be minimized as much as possible.
