Abstract: Verification of Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) is very important to the measurement process as well as to establish confidence in the uncertainty of the system. This paper presents a basic discussion about VNA verification including what verification is, check standard selection, and different verification methods. Verification methods explored include: quick check, check standards, calibration at a higher-level laboratories, interlaboratory comparisons, error separation, calibration comparison, VNA system comparison, and traveling verification kits.
