Abstract: The use of process chromatography by the natural gas industry started in the 1960s. These early uses were primarily in gas processing plants. During the late 1970s gas companies started looking for more accurate methods of determining the Btu than the traditional calorimeter. Chromatography became the choice of most gas companies.
