Abstract: Representative sampling and accurate determination of sediment and water (S&W) in crude oil is a five step process: -Disperse free water uniformly at the sample point -Extract and collect sample grabs to provide a representative sample of the entire volume -Maintain the sample in the sample receiver without altering its contents -Handle and mix the sample so that a representative alliquot may be taken for analysis -Analyze the sample accurately
