Abstract: Coriolis flow meters have long been recognized to be largely immune to variable process and installation conditions when compared to other metering technologies like turbine - and ultrasonic flow meters High viscosity fluids develop a laminar flow inside the mass meter tubes, forming boundary layers where there thickness depend upon the fluid viscosity and that do not directly like to follow the oscillating motion of the measuring tube In the contrary to most flow velocity sensors such as turbine meter or ultrasonic flow meters, the coriolis meters are not affected by the flow profile belonging to laminar or turbulent regimes.
