Abstract: An extensive network of data acquisition equipment is used by Southern Union Company to monitor its daily allocations of natural gas from pipeline companies. Curtailment plans implemented some years ago require us to use only our daily allocations or face penalties for overruns. Our first experience with Remote Transmitting Units (RTUs) convinced us we had problems that needed to be solved. This paper deals with our problems and the solution to those problems.
