Abstract: Gas Turbine Meters were introduced to the US in the 1960s. Since their introduction the turbine meter has grown in popularity due the fact that they have a high degree of accuracy, repeatability and the ability to cover a large flow range. Gas turbine meters are available with an assortment of configurations, gear driven odometers, ID drives, fully electronic designs with a variety of outputs and self-correcting models. Many new and imaginative developments have been added to the turbine meter. This greatly improves the diversity of the meter and allows for the meter to be used in new flow measurement applications.
