Abstract: Natural gas is metered several times as it flows from well-head to the consumer. It is measured each time its title changes hands, and also at any time part of the gas mixture is removed by dehydration, purification, liquids extraction, or compression. This is done to meter fuel gas used and volumetric shrinkage caused by removal of water, hydrocarbon liquids and acid gases such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide.
