Abstract: The need to calibrate high accuracy instruments are placing demands on the measurement community to provide calibration services that approach the accuracy of the reference standards. To meet the need economically the metrologist must take advantage of the microcomputer and sound statistics to insure these stringent accuracy requirements are met. This paper discusses the application of statistics at the bench using the microcomputer as a means improving measurement capability.
