Abstract: Indoor air quality is a complex issue relating building integrity, materials and human behavior to epidemiological effects. Some of the most commonly discussed sources, of indoor air pollution are building, the soil under the house, tobacco smoke and unvented gas appliances. Of specific interest to members of A.G.A. are issues related to gas appliance use. These issues are generally limited to the epidemiological effects of the emissions from unvented gas ranges. Although a variety of studies have already been performed on this subject, many are contradictory and subject to challenge. There is a need for credible research which studies gas appliance emissions and effects so that these issues can be resolved.
