Abstract: Numerous courses have been developed in recent years to familiarize electronic technician students with the principles of precision measurement and control, while others have concentrated on computer and microprocessor architecture, hardware and software. The author has found, however, that little emphasis, if any, is being placed on the merging of analog and digital expertise required in the use of automatic test systems. Orange Coast College will soon introduce a new course designed to fill that gap, called Electronic Systems for Measurement and Control. The course will stress the technical details of various measurement devices and instruments along with the interfacing needs of system controllers and peripherals.
