Abstract: This case is real. The names have been changed to protect the innocent. Examine the evidence photograph below. The view is the meter tube inlet of an ultrasonic meter retrofit. A ten-inch Daniel chordal meter was installed in place of an orifice meter. Flow is from left to right. Everything needed to define the crime and solve it is in the picture. Our task is to solve the crime.
