Abstract: Density is defined as mass per unit volume. Typical units used in the United States are grams per cubic centimeter or pounds per gallon. Densitometers determine the density of a fluid at operating conditions. This density is used in determining the total mass, usually in pounds, for a particular period in time such as the ticket period.
