Abstract: A few years ago the terms low-costand high-performance were mutually exclusive in the electronics industry. A piece of electronic equipment was either low-cost, low performance or high-cost, high performance but never cheap and good too. Today thats changed. Our technology has reached the point where thedream of producing low-priced, quality equipment is within our reach. However, since the concept is traditionally contradictory, production of such products requires careful planning to ensure manufacturing simplicity without sacrificing product reliability.
