Abstract: As natural gas reserves in offshore areas have become an increasingly vital segment of the total supply serving our nation, it has become equally vital that this supply be steady, reliable, and uninterrupted in service to customers throughout our market areas. The operational and logistical problems associated with offshore systems have accelerated internal corrosion and erosion attack in some gas gathering pipelines.
