Abstract: A PID Controller is a proportional-integral- derivative controller. It has been relatively unchanged since its inception in 1939. In some applications, maybe only Proportional control is needed. In other applications, PI (Proportional and Integral) are best used. Still in other applications, all three modes, PID is your best performing loop control.
