Abstract: This paper describes the development of a new technology to detect latural gas leaks, based on the absorption of infrared light by methane in latural gas. When commercialized, the new detector will increase leak urvey productivity 20% to 50% by permitting a vehicle equipped with his device to travel at normal traffic speeds.
