Title: Liquid Hydrocarbons: Properties And Analyses

Abstract: Liquid hydrocarbons under reservoir conditions have both gas and liquid species present and full accounting and analysis of all components can take a variety of techniques in both the sampling and analysis of the product. The difficulties associated with both the sampling and analysis of the hydrocarbon liquids, specifically lighter condensates and NGLs, originates from the volatility of the compounds and the pressure that must be maintained during their collection and use within the lab. Many clever techniques have been developed to accomplish this goal and can range from using simple displacement mediums during collection to using precisely controlled temperatures and pressures to accurately and quantitatively separate gases from liquids for measurement purposes.
