Abstract: The Department of Energy Organization Act of 1977 (Public Law 95-91) requires Ihat the Departments Energy Information Administration prepare an annual report on energy supply including estimates of U.S. proved reserves of crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids. This paper provides an overview of the program instituted in response to that legislative requirement and describes the general methodology utilized and the results obtained.
