Abstract: Clamp-on Ultrasonic flow meters are available from various manufactures using two distinct technologies. Each of these technologies has its own intrinsic advantages and limitations. This paper will provide the reader with the background in both the transit-time and Doppler flow meter technologies required to understand the inherent advantages and limitations in each technoiogy.
