Title: Microprocessors In Specialized Gaging Applications
Author: Ken Roydston

Abstract: Microprocessors may be successfully employed in one-of-a-kind or very limited productinn, specialized, automated gaging applications. The design and development of such systems will differ substantially from the design and development of moderate to high production microprocessor oriented systems. While the decision to use a microprocessor may be justified solely on the economic considerations of replacing hardwired logic, the microprocessors decision making ability may also be incorporated intimately into the measurement process to accomplish tasks otherwise very difficult or prohibitively expensive.
