Abstract: As the price of raw crude oil and refined products has risen sharply over the past thirty years, so has the need to more accurately measure these commodities. There are various instruments available for this task but for the purposes of this discussion, we will only be concerned with turbine meters and positive displacement meters for it is these types of meters which lend themselves to calibration using computer controlled meter provers.
