Abstract: The optimum communication system for SCADA applications generally includes more than one transmission mediuni. Uhen more than one medium is used, you have a hybrid communications system. Microwave, VSATs, leased lines, USATs, radio, and dial telephone lines all have their place in SCADA. Most of these technologies can be used simultaneously on a single network.
