Abstract: The study described in this paper explored the effect on sampling accuracy of using an in-line separator during the sampling of unprocessed natural gas. The petroleum industry in the U. S. follows the Gas Processors Association (GPA) Standard 2166-86 for natural gas sampling. In the Standard, a sampling probe and an in-line separator are recommended as part of the sampling equipment system.
