Abstract: support of the Kyoto Protocol, the Clinton Administration is encouraging companies to take proactive measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Natural Gas STAR Program, a voluntary, non-regulatory partnership between the U.S. EPA and the natural gas industry, offers companies cost-effective technological solutions to reducing gas loss and improving system efficiency. The STAR Program provides companies the opportunity to take credit for their reductions and increase their competitive edge in a post-Kyoto world.
