Abstract: A major programme of work is being undertaken at NEL to establish reference-quality measurements of density for ten natural gas mixtures typical of those recovered from North Sea condensate fields. The measurements are being made using the UKs primary standard densitometer for gases over a range of pressures and temperatures commensurate with typical metering conditions. A description of the modified apparatus is presented together with preliminary findings for the first three mixtures.
