Abstract: Northwest Pipeline has been successful in obtaining performance guarantees from suppliers of turbo machinery. Proving this performance can require many unproductive man hours with valuable personnel lied up waiting for stable test conditions. ISSAC/Apple micro-computerbased analog-to-digital Data Acquisition System has the ability to monitor test conditions and take data by itself, monitoring discharge temperature and taking data when temperature changes becomes minimal. It is possible to obtain finished data before leaving the site, thus minimizing the time to bring performance to an acceptable level before leaving the site. This can result in a savings of many dollars in travel time and expenses for both manufacturer and user.
