Abstract: Websters Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary defines accuracy as: 1: Freedom from mistake or error: correctness 2a: conformity to truth or to a standard or mode: exactness b: degree of conformity of a measure to a standard as a true value. Accuracy is an interesting word in the gas industry and particularly in the world of gas measurement. The quest we all seek to obtain is the perfect cubic foot. To seek that perfect cubic foot of natural gas we must begin with a standard. A standard is something accepted as the norm or model for the industry, as a starting point, The standard for the gas industry in orifice measurement is the AGA Report No. 3 and No. 8. In positive and displacement measurement it is the AGA Report No. 7.
