Abstract: TELEMETERING - TO MEASURE AT A DISTANCE. REMOTE CONTROL - AS THE NAME IMPLIES - TO BE ABLE TO CONTROL REMOTELY. These are the tools that the modern gas dispatcher makes good use of. He has before him on a panel in his office telemeter receivers which at all times keep him informed of conditions along his pipeline or about his distribution system. He also has control switches on this same panel or on his desk which allow him to change position of valves, or otherwise alter conditions at distant points of the gas system.
