Abstract: Turbine metering has been around for many years now and has proven itself to be a very accurate way of measuring flow in both liquids and gases in properly applied applications. There are basically two types of turbine meters that sold. The most common is an inline turbine meter. These devices use a pipe spool type of installation where they are either flanged or threaded in to the pipe and make up a part of the pipe with the measuring point within it. The other type is an insertion type turbine meter, in which the turbine is mounted on the end of a stem and inserted to a certain depth depending upon pipe size and manufacturer specifications.
