Abstract: New York State Electric and Gas Corporation (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas & Electric Corporation (RG&E) are the New York local distribution companies (LDCs) of Energy East Corporation, providing electric and gas energy in upstate New York. NYSEGs service area includes 13 divisions located throughout upstate New York. Service is provided to 253,000 gas customers in service areas throughout upstate New York including the cities of Binghamton, Elmira and Ithaca. RG&Es service area includes the nine county region centering around the City of Rochester in upstate New York with more than 296,000 gas customers
