Abstract: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) produces a large number of Standard Reference Materials (SRMS) which can be used to assure the accuracy of measurements in analytical laboratories throughout the country and internationally. Many of the measurements made are related to regulatory requirements, for example drinking water regulations.
