Abstract: The chromatographic analysis of natural gas liquids may be approached in several different manners. The American Society for Testing and Materials and The Gas Processors Association are two organizations that have published standard methods for the analysis of natural gas liquids. (ASTM method D2597 and GPA Standard 2177). This paper will give a brief overview of these methods. While the ASTM and GPA employ similar meUiods, the Chromatographer should use the method that is specified by company contractual and tariff agreements.
