Abstract: The term calorimeter applies to any of a number of apparatuses used to measure the heat energy of combustible gases, liquids or solids. This discussion is limited to two of these devices. They are the Therm-Titrator, manufactured by Precision Measurement, Inc. and the Cutler-Hammer calorimeter. Either of these instruments will accurately measure the heat energy of combustible gases and display that measurement on a strip chart recorder providing a permanent chart record of BTU per cubic foot.
