Abstract: This paper will touch briefly on the operation and installation of the recording Calorimeter and cover in more detail the maintenance of the instrument. The recording Calorimeter is a gas burning device. The heat of combustion in the main burner is used to determine the BTU of the gas being analyzed. Combustion is supported by primary and secondary air. There is 40% excess secondary air to assure complete combustion. When observing the flame, there should be no signs of incomplete combustion (carbon).
