Abstract: Gas chromatographs are the industry standard for accurately measuring the components in a gas stream and therefore the energy content of a gas. Many variables are involved in the process of correctly using a GC. This paper addresses the Calibration Gas Standard and specifically the preparation of the Gas Standard. By understanding the variables involved in preparation of a Gas Standard, GC users may be able to specify a blend that will be optimally suited to their application.
