Abstract: A summary of the results of a survey of current applications of economic analysis by 19 gas distribuiion companies. All areas of activity in which economic analysis is likely to be used are covered. Design engineers arc concerned that the systems they design not only perforin their intended function but do so relatively inexpensively. Thus, economic considerations arc an integral pan of the design process, and it is appropriate for ihe Distribution Design and Development (DD&D) Committee to have a task group on economic analysis.
